What is Huunt?

Huunt is an AI-powered application assistant built for the German-speaking job market. At the center is the AI agent Ethain, who guides job seekers through the full application process: finding jobs, evaluating listings, preparing ATS-optimized resumes, writing tailored cover letters, and sending a finished application package in just a few clicks. Users keep full control throughout the process: Ethain prepares, the person decides and sends.

The platform was validated in a public beta with more than 7 million real job-ad evaluations, supports more than 30 languages, and translates every job listing, a targeted approach for helping international professionals integrate into the German labor market. Huunt is a purely applicant-focused B2C tool and does not take employer-side placement fees or recruiting commissions.

What problem does Huunt solve, and how large is it?

Job search is a full-time job. On average, job seekers spend about 19 hours per week on job research and application writing, and among academics the number rises above 21 hours. Why is Huunt especially relevant right now?

The German labor market is going through a structural shift that is pushing millions of people into active job search at the same time. In the 2025 annual average, 2,948,000 people were registered as unemployed, an increase of 161,000 compared with the previous year. What does Huunt actually do, and what does it not do?

Huunt covers the full application workflow:

  • Autonomous job search: Ethain continuously scans the market for relevant roles and evaluates listings against the user's profile.
  • ATS-optimized resume: Each resume is adapted with the relevant keywords for the specific role, machine-readable and still convincing for humans.
  • Tailored cover letter: No copy-paste, but a role-specific cover letter that follows DIN 5008 standards and reflects the job requirements.
  • HR contact research: Ethain autonomously researches the relevant contact person and inserts the correct email address into the application email.
  • Review and send: Users still decide where to apply and must review the completed application before anything is sent.

What Huunt explicitly does not do: send applications without the user's knowledge or control, prioritize employers in exchange for fees, or pass applicant data to companies for recruiting purposes. Huunt works exclusively for the person who is applying.

What makes Huunt different from job boards and general AI chatbots?

Job boards show vacancies, but they do not help people apply successfully. General AI tools like ChatGPT can write text, but they do not know the current keywords of a job unless someone copies them in manually, they cannot export ready-to-send application documents as PDFs that match German application standards, and they do not send the application email.

Huunt combines all of this in one specialized agent. It finds jobs, scores how well they fit, reads the requirement list, optimizes the resume and cover letter for the specific role, and prepares the complete application package for approval. A process that normally takes hours takes minutes with Huunt.

For applicants with limited German skills, Huunt also produces professional application documents in fluent German, making it a targeted tool for labor-market integration of international professionals.

Who is behind Huunt?

Huunt was founded by Kevin Gallas Mayer and Dmytro Kabyshev in December 2024 and registered as Huunt GmbH in Berlin. The team combines decades of experience across consumer software, machine learning, user experience, product design, and digital marketing.
